Many Muses of Mine

When I think of the word “Muse”, my mind immediately races towards some of the great classics .  We have Lee Miller, who became the “village bicycle” of Muses, giving Edward Steichen, Man Ray, Picasso and finally her husband artist Roland Penrose, oodles of ammunition to create timeless works.  There was Gala Dali, need I say more.  Alice Liddell gave magical inspiration to Charles Dodgson (aka: Lewis Carroll) towards creating “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”.  As we move forward in time, we look to the Muses of the 20th and 21st Centuries.  Of course we can argue that Kate Moss has given most any artist and designer a serious run for their money.  She has become to Fashion, what Lee Miller was to Art.

When it comes to me and I’m sure I’m not alone, there are some very classic women of our time who are limitless in their expression, bulletproof in their resilience and unapologetic in their style.

Every artist needs fuel for their fire.  Any person that emits even the slightest notion of creativity, is guilty of having a muse of some kind.   Ladies and Gentlemen, here are mine:

About

With 13 years of jewelry experience, and decades of being obsessed with all things built with love and made to sparkle, OPJ is simply about, "other people's jewelry". Between having my own lines, Made Her Think and Meredith Kahn, my years of consulting and collaborative work with various Designers and Brands, Ive come across the most intriguing and inspiring bodies of work. In my curation of what has inspired me, Ive stored thousands of tear sheets, multiple collage journals and drawers of vintage and antique jewelry. I have met collectors, designers, obsesssers and muses that I feel it is my job to share with the Universe.
